Hiatus...

TV has been really terrible for me this year with a few exceptions like Glee, Fringe & The Office. I'm not talking cable shows which incl. Dexter, Weeds & Curb, which I can't wait to watch on DVD as soon as their latest season is released.

Around the holidays is the worst time for TV. I swear I haven't watched anything good lately. I did watch an episode of New Adventurs of Old Christine a few times. That show is actually funny but I always forget it's on. I have to watch Modern Family because I hear it's a riot. I like more of the sarcastic type humor rather than the straight out, stupid/corny jokes, audience laughter show.

24 is coming in January. Lost is coming in February. I know I will try not to watch American Idol cause it gets on my nerves but I'm sure I'll get sucked in and that starts in January. I missed the entire season of Law & Order: SVU because of Glee. I love that show. Let's hope I can catch the repeats when I'm bored. I've also read over 20 books this year. That's impressive for me because usually i never finish a goal I set for myself like that.

But for now, I'llstick with reading until January. Just finished Agassi's new book. I never knew how depressed that guy was.... Pick it up if you want and interesting read.

Tiger Woods...Nominee for 2009 Loser of the Year!

How can anyone be that stupid? If he never wanted to get caught and i'm assuming he must have because he didn't seem to cover his tracks very well... Let's start with that voicemail message. Who leaves their name on the message if you are trying to be discreet? Who doesn't have caller id in this day and age? Never assume you can trust a cocktail waitress, no one would ever believe them that they were sleeping with you so they took assurances to prove it.

She kept over 300 text messages. Seriously, who does that? Someone who is obsessed and crazy (might be the same thing). Are we now going to see her on 20/20 with Barbara Walters? The first question from Barbara, "Why did you do it?" "He's a married man" and then blah blah blah.... then comes the money demands and maybe even a book deal.. We will soon be inundated with the names Rachel Uchitel, Kalika Moquin and Jamie Grubbs...

I think Jamie Grubbs will be the most famous of them all. Her name is easy to remember and she was the smart, crazy one. She kept the messages & voicemails. It's her chance to breakout from the reality tv world of Tool Academy to her current position of Homewrecker.

How many more women will now say they had an affair with Tiger Woods? As for the picture, I received this from a friend in my email, it was obviously photoshopped. I kind of wish that Elin swung a little harder, maybe as she is kicking him out of the house...

Where the hell have I been?

I haven't written since Sept. 11th? Apparently, I have been lazy...

Only 6 weeks till xmas and I haven't even begun to make copies of my infamous xmas cd. What's a girl to do?

Run down of TV shows.... The Office seems much funnier than last season... Have yet to watch Modern Family but I hear it's hysterical...

Glee had their "afterschool special episode" this week. Still love the show...

New Adventurs of Old Christine has a great cast and is really funny. Yes a Seinfeld character has made a good show...

Tried to watch Flash Forward but couldn't keep up...I kept getting distracted...

Fringe is so good.. Walter Bishop is such a great character...Olivia is a little too monotone for me but still enjoy it...

And on another note, why the hell is the movie Precious not showing anywhere in New England until Nov. 20th and even that is too far away to see it?

Ok, I'm out....

S. Williams vs. Clijsters - US Open Semi-finals

Of course this should be the final but they were unfortunately in the same half of the bracket.

Why Serena will win: Let's face it, she's the number 1 player in the world. She wins every major tournament. Have you seen her arms? Her fans want to see her win her 3rd major of the year.

Why Serena will lose: It's the comeback of Kim Clijsters! She retired in 2007 to have a baby and now is kicking ass through the US Open tournament. Weird stat: If she wins the tournament, she'll be the first player that has a child when winning..

Kim Clijsters was my favorite player and now she's back. You can only guess who I'm rooting for.

Michael Jackson Memorial - 3 things

Starting off with Mariah Carey would make anyone want to change the channel. It's apparent it's not the same Carey of her glory days because there was no high notes to be had.

Al Sharpton shouting and getting a rise out of a crowd is what he does best. "What nuttin' strange about your Daddy! What was strange is what he had to deal with everyday!" Only Sharpton can make it a classic.

And last but not least, Paris Jackson's touching words at the end, "She misses her Daddy". It was pretty sad and I felt a tear or two build up...

That should be the end of MJ's news coverage but WAIT!..... there is now a tribute planned for August.... in London...

Why America's Got Talent is so terrible!

I think Britain's Got Talent has tainted America's Got Talent so badly this year that nothing can live up to the expectations of that show. Everything from the camera angles, to the shots of the so-called surprised looking audience members to the stupid looks on Nick Cannon's face to the stupid things that come out of David Hasselhoff's mouth. This show is really bad.

I thought I would give it a try because of the mere fact the worst shows air during the summer so maybe they would have some good talent. I mean they are letting people pass through to Vegas who really aren't that good.

And what they show is shown so quickly with some music montage that you really don't get to enjoy it. I think I only enjoyed 3 acts so far, the dog who caught frisbees, the Voice of Glory kids whose mom is in a wheelchair and those kids who did hip-hop tap/step dancing.

Stop showing stupid Nick Cannon backstage or in the rafters and his raised eyebrows, his look of "Yo! this stinks". His dumb comments

And David Hasselhoff. Why is he a judge? He think practically everything is great. The Polish violin triplets who could play violin but to me sounded not so great when they sang. He liked them because they were very pretty. He couldn't stop shouting, "Yeah Alright, Alright" when they walked on the stage. And his favorite phrase, "You guys are what this show is all about!" Ughhhh

So far, Britain's Got the Talent and America doesn't...

2 yr. old with pacifiers & other things

What is it with moms who give their children pacifiers when they are 2 yrs old and up? I always see that Jayden James Federline or Spears with that thing in his mouth. It's really not necessary, is it? Stick his fingers in his mouth or something...

Also, what is with people who wear those knit hats in the summer? I am looking at US Weekly right now and there is a picture of Zac Efron at Childrens Hospital in LA and he has this winter hat on. Did he have a bad hair day?

And just above his pic, is T-Pain with the biggest diamond gold chain I have ever seen and appropriately it says "BIG ASS CHAIN". Kind of funny...

I am sick of Kate Goesselin, Who the hell are you anyway? Wow! You have sextuplets and 2 other kids & now you have a TV show. Get your life together woman! Jesus, concentrate on those kids, not your stupid TV show..

The Hills. Here's an instance when I am grateful I don't have cable. I hear about LC, Stephanie Pratt, Heidi & Spencer Pratt (who Cheslsea Handler aptly calls the "2 biggest assholes on the planet"). I can read about them all over the internet & in magazines and still don't care who the hell they are or who they have dated. GO AWAY!

Lindsay who?
Paris who?

Oh, by the way, did I mention Sptephanie Pratt says The Hills has made her bulimic! She was repulsed by her 108lbs on TV and thougth she should lose another 10 lbs. I may gorge myself with food just from reading this sob story. BOO HOO!

Has anyone been watching the train wreck, Help I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here! I turn it on and then I can't look away. I really didn't know who anyone was except for Sanjaya, Stephen Baldwin, John Salley and Janice Dickinson (man what happened to her face). Who is Torrie and Patty?

Heads up! All you Saved by The Bell fans out there, they are looking to do a reunion, only Tiffani Thiessen and Dustin "Screech" Diamond are the only holdouts. This is one of my Top 3 worst shows of all time! Along with Who's The Boss & Full House...

What's with Rihanna's hair lately? It looks like a giant mohawk. Not so good for someone who is so gorgeous...

When it comes to boyfriends, Drew Barrymore is more indecisive than Jen Clark is deciding on a sandwich for lunch and if you knew Jen, then you know had bad that is.

Saw thousands of people on the Today Show this morning for the Jonas Brothers concert. To this day, I don't know any of their songs. It reminds me of the Hanson phenomenon.

Jennider Aniston's every move is a highlight of some magazine/TV. I can't imagine how hard it is for her when it comes to privacy.

Looking forward to seeing the film Precious: Based on a novel by Sapphire. Watch the preview on AOL Movies under Coming Soon. I cried. Mo'Nique stars in it and I bet she gets nominated for an Oscar. It looks really good. I think Oprah & Tyler Perry backed this film...Tearjerker all the way..

Song of the moment: Evil Woman by Mike Posner & The Brain Trust. Yes it samples ELO's Evil Woman but when don't songs these days either sample or remake hit songs. There really is a lack of originality these days. There are alot of hip hop artists on the Top 10 charts, in my opinion, that are horrific. Examples: Pitbull, Kid Cudi but the worst is Soulja Boy Tell 'Em.

Soulja Boy Tell 'Em... this is absolutely the worst group. It's a shame a group can sound so awful and make millions of dollars. I'm almost tempted to put a record out of my own...

Well, enough rantin' & ravin', I'm out! Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

So You Think You Can Dance

Th hit reality show sort of based on American Idol is probably the only new show I have watched this Summer (late Spring).

The dancers are really talented but the judges are the most annoying and kind of full of themselves...

For instance, the one I can't stand the most is Mia Michaels. I saw one episode where she told this kid she didn't get him at all, thought his smile was fake and didn't see what all the fuss was about. Who the hell is she again?

Then they have Lil' C as a judge. Huh?

Debbie Allen - Who doesn't know who she is? She is the most credible judge up there. I obviously don't know much about the dance industry but come on, it's Debbie Allen.

Also, judge Mary Murphy and that horrifying scream. It's insane...

Nygel Lythgoe is the Simon Cowell judge but he doesn't appear to be as rude.

I have no idea who Adam Shankman is...well he is a choreograher of dance...

I'm not sure what the rest of you think but if the judges were on mute then the show would be a whole lot better..

5 reasons to dislike Kobe Bryant

1) He's on the Lakers

2) He's the boy who cried FOUL!

3) He's in too many commercials

4) The sports announcers are too obessessed with him.. They have Jeter syndrome when it comes to Bryant

5) He's not on the Celtics

French Open - Serena Williams

Serena Williams almost choked today. If she had lost today, she would have blamed it on an injury to her leg or knee or whatever she can think of that might be ailing her. She is very lucky she made it through.

"My leg felt pretty good, actually," Williams said. "I'm definitely more confident in it. I felt good movement-wise." (Now remember she won, what would the result be if she had lost?)

What I most look forward to seeing is what Oracene's hair is doing that day and what type of sunglasses she may be wearing. Fang's Bites is telling me they were quite hilarious today.

Glee - "Don't Stop Believin'" (REAL HQ - Direct from HD Broadcast, No Camera)

I loved this show! I can't wait till Fall for this one. Let's hope they don't keep moving it to different nights or it won't survive.

American Idol Predictions- The Finale

I would like Kris Allen to win but I am not going to lose any sleep if he doesn't.

I actually tried voting for him last night but could never get through on all 3 numbers so maybe that's a good sign. I know someone who voted for him last night just because they hate Adam...

Ok so observations on the show last night.

Adam sings first, cheesy down the stairs entrance even after Simon commented on how that was pretentious during the regular season, he still did it. Mad World, sounded just like it did the first time I heard him sing it but apparently the judges think he sounded A M A Z I N G (that would be Kara speaking).

Randy " Yeah Yeah Yeah" Jackson looked better than usual. Paula looked orange, did she tan 24 hrs straight?....

Kris sang Ain't No Sunshine and it was really good. I hate when Simon gives the rounds to the contestant, it's almost a doomsday outcome for them.

What was Anthony Hopkins doing in the audience and he looked pretty horrible. Katie Holmes, Rachel Bilson... Are they fans or are they doing something with Fox?

Adam's Sam Cooke song had a stretch of constant high pitch screeching that I thought I was hearing nails down a chalkboard. YUCK! I enjoyed the laid back verson of Marvin Gaye's song. It sounded nice. I love that style of music, stripped down & acoustic...

And OMG but Kara's song was really bad. Both contestants didn't do anything for it and Adam's low register isn't the greatest. How can anyone be judged by that song anyway? And that will be the single, EWWWWW!

Well we'll see who wins tonight. Probably around 11:03pm. Take a nap during the awful dance number they do in the beginning of the show...

American Idol & other things

So tonight is the big finale between Adam "The Screamer" Lambert & Kris "So Cute" Allen. I hope Kris does well. But with the cheesy ballad that American Idol always makes them sing in the final, I think Adam may succeed here unless they are at liberty to change it.

Also, why is SAMANTHA WHO? cancelled? This show is downright funny. If ABC didn't switch the nights it was on 50 million times, it may have survived.

And the season finale of Lost! That was awesome. As for Juliet, we hear she's leaving the show to be on a remake of the 80's sci-fi/drama V, which by the way, I used to love and own on VHS. For those of you who don't remember, it's lizard aliens disguised as humans pretending to befriend earth and secretly wanting to take over and steal its water supply. Hey wasn't there a perfectly good alien show they cancelled a few years ago called Invasion starring the awesome William Fichtner aka Josh Snyder from As The World Turns in the 80's.

I always remember the weirdest facts....

Simon Cowell: Adam Lambert Will Win 'Idol'

Why watch if this is the case which I am sure it is!!

According to Billboard.com:

American Idol" judge Simon Cowell says he thinks Adam Lambert will win this season of the popular singing competition show. Cowell told Oprah Winfrey on Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that his money is on Lambert because the contestant is fearless, unique and "he's got swagger."Winfrey also featured Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who is competing on "Britain's Got Talent." Boyle told Winfrey she's "loving every second" of her newfound fame. The 47-year-old Boyle became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her version of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables." One of those judges was Cowell, who wished Boyle congratulations and wished her "best of luck" on the rest of the competition.

Manny Ramirez- Uh Oh!

Well I am glad Manny isn't with the Red Sox still. But let's face it, everyone thought this guy was one of those natural players who just was awesome at baseball. Coaches always saying, "Manny is the first one out there and he works out harder than any player you know".

It's really disappointing... Something called HCG, a fertility drug, used in people who are coming off steroids to pump up their testosterone. Steroids kills/lowers testosterone levels so the thinking is Manny's bedroom routine hadn't been working for some time....so why not get some HCG! A banned substance in the MLB.

Should we consider bringing Pete Rose back now? Betting on baseball seems less harsh than this stuff.

American Idol Results

I am very disappointed that Allison is not continuing on but she is probably the most marketable contestant and then Kris behind her. I don't really see Adam or Danny making it big on the pop or rock charts. But I am still hoping that Kris makes it to the finale because if he doesn't there really isn't any reason to watch for me...

American Idol Predictions - Rock Week

When someone compares a contestant of American Idol to a "Rock God", you really start to wonder what the hell are these people listening to and how much drugs are they taking? Kara "I Wanna Be the Cool Judge" DioGuardi is useless on this panel of 3 judges. Why is she even on this show? I think she better follow the rumors and leave the show. PLEASE!!!

I seriously think they shouldn't even have a final because the judges want so badly for Adam Lambert to win that it makes me want to puke. Over praise, ridiculous comparisons to actual rock legends.. It's sickening..

This week I really felt that Danny was the worst. And if you go on Vote for The Worst, they claim that Danny is using the Lenscrafters symbol (the heart shaped thing he does with this fingers at the end of his songs) to pitch for them. Maybe??? Anyway, Dream On stunk and that scream at the end was awful. Who knows if he will be dumped though. Paula wants him in the finals...

Alison is sooo good, it's scary. Yo Dawg Randy didn't like it but it was aight! You can always predict what Randy will say. Here's the scenario. After a perfromer sings, the crowd is screaming & clapping so Randy is trying to quiet the crowd with his round of "Yo's" and his right arm up to tell the crown to quiet down. Get a new schtick!

Kris, who I do love, sang Come Together by The Beatles. I mean, how can you change up a Beatles song. I think if Adam sang a Beatles song, Paula might have claimed he was right up there in status with John Lennon or Paul McCartney. Kris was ok but I think he may go home this week.

Adam.... Well he did sound just like Led Zeppelin pretty much through the whole song. It's really tough with the judges because 1 week they say, it sounds karaoke or they didn't like the arrangement. Well Adam sang in his own way and the judges pretty much made it impossible for anyone to compare to him. Why do you think he went first?

I really don't know who will go home. I hope it's not Allison...

American Idol- Final 4

So I am hearing that this week will be a Rock theme w/the mentoring of Slash. I think the days of his hair hanging in his face & the cigarette hanging out of his mouth are over. I guess it will be rock songs of the 70's & 80's.

I also hear they will be doing 2 songs and each will do a duet? I'm not sure if this is correct but that is the rumor...

American Idol Predictions - 4/29/09

Rat Pack night was pretty subdued in terms of all out rockin' songs. I would have loved to hear "Mack The Knife" or "Hit the Road Jack" but it was more of a swoon type of style music night for the most part. Alison is awesome. She may not be the cutest girl on the block but this girl can SING! She is exactly like a R&B Pink... Adam is just plain Adam. He sounded medicore to me and no one but insane Paula really gave him a great compliment. Randy threw in his usual "Yo's" and "Dog" comments. Kara was saying he was like a mixed bag of "unexpected, sleazy ( i did hear that one), surprises" and mentioned she didn't know why she liked him. Hey thanks Kara for whatever that meant... Paula did her usual babble praise for Adam. Saying, "he can see the path to the finals" And Simon told him it was the "best entrance of a performer ever on the history of the show... Kris who I really liked was soft and tender according to Kara but he wasn't great but I still love him... Danny was really good this week. Not the sappy Danny I had been starting to loathe... and lastly, Matt Giraud. Now usually I agree with Simon but last night in no way did I think that was BRILLIANT! I think if Simon goes back and listens to it again, he will hear the terrible notes that I thought were coming through on my television set. I think Matt is going home, no doubt...

American Idol Predictions - April 22, 2009

Disco night really didn't sound much like disco with the exception of Danny & Matt.

So let's get in to it then...

Danny Gokey sang September which I love by Earth Wind and Fire. I thought he sang well. I used to love him but now I am just liking him.

Matt Giraud sang Stayin' Alive and I'm not sure if he will. I thought it was ok but apparently the judges want them to change up the songs more and it sounded pretty much like the original.

Alison Ihareta sang Hot Stuff by Donna Summer (one of 3 songs by Summer). Someone called me during her performance so I only caught pieces. I think she might be in the bottom 3 only because I thought the arrangement wasn't that good and she seemed to be shouting again. But I love Alison and as Randy says, " You got mad skills" "Dude, you can blow!" Let's hope he means singing...

Anoop Desai sang Dim All The Lights by Summer. I think he must have figured out that his voice is best when singing slow songs. For the second week in a row, I thought he was very good. But the last note sounded like he was dying, yikes! And did anyone notice this, but when they did the recaps of all the singers, they showed Anoop's last note and it wasn't the same as the actual performance. That must have been the performance of the rehearsal in the recaps.

Kris Allen sang yet again another Donna Summer song, She Works Hard for the Money. All I kept thinking of was that video of her working in that diner. Kris is becoming one of my favorites. I really like his style and I love anything acoustic so he's sounding awesome.

Adam Lambert sang If I Can't Have You by Yvonne Eilliman. Paula marvels about how he shows emotion. I mean the camera cuts to Paula and she's practically weeping on cue. Remember people, this guy is an actor. Of course he knows how to sing with emotion, he used to sing in musicals all the time. It was a good performance, I will say that.

Lil Rounds sang I'm Every Woman by Chaka Khan. I didn't see her performance at all. I did however see the judges reaction so I'm going to say it wasn't good. I bet she is is so confused on what to sing because every comment from the judges to her is negative.

I think the Bottom 3 will be Lil' Rounds, Matt Giraud and Alison Ihareta. If fans get behind Lil' Rounds then either Anoop or Kris will probably be in there then.

And can I just say something about Paula? I also noticed after Adam sang, they zoomed in on her face and her hand was shaking quite a bit. I know she was filled up with emotion after proclaiming Adam would be in the finals and some classic comments, “I felt your pain, I felt like your vulnerability and it was beautiful. It was as if you tore your heart out and left it on the stage. You’re fascinating, you’re brilliant, and you will be in the finals".

Paula, can you feel my pain just listening to you? I find myself shouting at the tv at times everytime I see Paula get up and dance like a maniac to the contestants songs.

Well, what cheesy dance number will we see tonight and what old reject from AI will be performing? Oh wait, it's cutie David Archuletta...

Disco Week - American Idol

So, it's Disco Week. Will we be subjected to the singers dressed in 70's garb?

According to MSN TV, the leaked list of songs are as follows:

Lil Rounds: MacArthur Park, Matt Giraud: September, Danny Gokey: Disco Inferno, Kris Allen: How Deep is Your Love, Allison Iraheta: Dancing Queen, Adam Lambert: Call Me, Anoop Desai: Ladies Night

This is an unofficial list, they are subject to change...

Is the MLB suspending every pitcher who throws at heads?

My question is: If they suspended Josh Beckett for throwing at Bobby Abreu's head and missing, will they be suspending other pitchers for actually hitting the batter's head?

I say this only because last night Kevin Youkilis was hit in the head.

"With Dustin Pedroia on base, Orioles reliever Danys Baez hit Youkilis in the head with a 93-mph fastball, the ball glancing off his helmet and caroming towards the Red Sox dugout. Youkilis sat for a moment, but quickly stood, and walked to first base without a problem, accompanied by trainers and manager Terry Francona." Projo Sports Blog 4/17/09

So you gotta think, that reliever Baez will be suspended too, right? Let's hope that MLB gets it right. If you do it for one, you have to do it for all.

American Idol Predictions - April 14th

Hmmmm. Ok, here's my thoughts....

Alison Ihareta: Even though the judges thought she was pretty good, I thought she didn't sound all that great. I thought I heard alot of parts off key. Not sure if she'll be safe tonight.

Danny Gokey: I thougth he was good but boring. The song was totally cheesy. I don't think it was fantastic but I believe he is safe.

Anoop Desai: I think personally he had the best performance of the night. Although I hate Bryan Adams songs, he was quite good. I think he's best when singing R&B slow songs.

Adam Lambert: Hmmmm. You know I hate this guy and his rendition of 'Born To Be Wild' just really pushed me over the edge. Tell me people, who sings a song like that? I think Adam's ego is so big now that he thinks he can sing anything that sounds like a screaming banshee. For me, that was horrifying. I kind of hope he's in the Bottom 3. It would be exciting for the show to see a shakeup but I doubt it would happen.

Matt Giraud: I like Matt, I really do but last night's performance did nothing for me. I think he's endanger of being booted for good.

Kris Allen: it's too bad. This guy is really good. But because he picked a song from the film "Once", I think the obscurity of this song will drop him in the Bottom 3. (great soundtrack, you should check it out.)

Lil' Rounds: She really isn't as good as they thought she was. I think the auditions sometimes are deceiving. She should be in the Bottom 3 tonight but maybe her crying ( it was when they showed the recaps) and the judges harsh comments will make people feel bad for her and she could be saved...

My predictions Bottom 3: Lil' Rounds, Kris Allen and Matt Giraud... but if Lil' gets some sympathy, I would throw Allison in there...

Parks & Recreation Review

Uh........
See that awkward silence, that's what I think of Amy Poehler's new sitcom. It was like watching a bad copy of The Office. The whole documentary style, talking to the camera... it just wasn't that funny. I mean Amy Peohler is funny, don't get me wrong but it was almost like she was trying too hard to be overly funny. (does that make sense?).

Rashida Jones & Nick Offerman ( i believe is Megan Mullaly's husband) they both better watch out, cause her sitcom Motherhood stinks too) are good actors as well but it doesn't seem to gel together. Too many one liners...

Overall, the characters are a little weak. Let's hope the show's second episode is much better.

American Idol Predictions - April 8, 2009

Ok, there really isn't much to say but I'll guess that the bottom 3 tonight will be:

Lil Rounds, Scott McIntyre, Kris Allen

Why they should go?

Lil Rounds: Every week she is just not impressing me and I'm sorry when she hits those high notes, sometimes it sounds like nails scratching a chalkboard. Not impressed.

Scott McIntyre: I couldn't believe he actually made it on the competition rounds in the first place. So to say I'm a fan is a big NO. I had a strange feeling that if he did make it, people would vote for him because he is blind. Don't feel sorry for him 'cause he's blind, feel sorry for him 'cause he sounds terrible and it's embarrassing.

Kris Allen: I just started to really enjoy listening to Kris but last night the whole song sounded horrendous plus I hate anything Eagles related. Sorry not an Eagles fan. It just sounded like a mess.

I hope Allison is not in the Bottom 3 tonight. This girl is so good at 16 yrs. She's way better than Jordin Sparks.

I think tonight may be the first night that someone is saved by the new rule. ( I wouldn't save Scott but they might because Kara & Paula can't really say anything bad to him)

American Idol Review - April 1, 2009

They all were awesome! I mean isn't Megan Joy the best! Screw Simon! She rules!

Oh wait... April Fools!

Here's a quick and simple rundown of last night's performances:

Anoop: Missed his performance completely

Megan: Made Bob Marley roll over in his grave

Danny: Makes me love him even more

Allison: Sang good but her hair was hideous

Lil: Not loving her.. Disagree w/judges. She's good but not great.

Scott: Didn't like him... Still very boring..

Matt: Uh Oh... That stunk... Why didn't he sing JT? He may be going home

Adam: Hate him. Don't know why but I just do. He is different though.

Kris: Liked him alot. I think he's very talented..

Not sure of Bottom 3 this week but I'll say:

Megan, Anoop & Matt...

Idol Castoffs!

Yeah! Michael Sarver is gone! But why was Matt Giraud in the bottom 2? What is wrong with you people? He is sooo good...

Yet again, Scott didn't make the bottom 2. (bottom 3 doesn't count). And Megan Joy who is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful people, didn't even get to the bottom anything. She was so bad. She sounded like a person who had just gotten water in her ears and was shouting because she couldn't hear what people were saying.

I will announce what next week's theme is soon. Stay Tuned.

Clijsters set to return to tennis!

Did I mention I absolutely love watching tennis? Here is some exciting news for all you tennis freaks out there.

Kim Clijsters is set to announce her comeback two years after retiring from the game to have a baby.
The 25-year-old former world number one is expected to announce a schedule later this week, including plans to play at the US Open in September.

Now I can have someone to cheer on in matches!

Do American Idol Contestants Lip-Sync?

That is the question that's been plaguing American Idol fans' curious little minds these days when it comes to the group performances at the beginning of the elimination show.

The answer from an Idol source who tells us, "They do prerecord the chorus stuff. And they sing live their solos and sing over the track on live TV with the band playing live as well."

Justin Guarini, runnerup in 1st season of Idol, says, "Every single year, we cannot stand the group performances. I know they can't stand it either. And I think what makes [the group performances] even worse now is that they're lip-synced. They're really prerecorded now.

American Idol Motown Week

The theme for the March 24th will be Motown Week.

I think this will be a problem for Scott mostly. I don't see alot of soul in him at all. Paula suggested he should get up and dance around the stage instead of staying behind his comfort zone, the piano. And how Paula do you expect him to do that? No, not a good week coming up for him....

Also, Megan, the Natalie Merchant-esque twirler & token quirky girl might have a problem as well...

Matt, Anoop, Danny and Lil' should do pretty well here. It's there genre for sure. (Go Danny!)

Kris... He's an odd one to read. He's the heartthrob for the screaming girls in the audience and I think he'll probably do okay but nothing that will blow us away.

Michael... Just kick him off before they have to sing just to save my eardrums the trouble. I mean he's not horrible but I don't think he really belongs there...

Allison... Now this kid can sing.. Motown? I'm not sure. I picture her as a rock ballad type of singer but despite her being in the bottom 3 last week (why?) I think she can pull it off.

Adam.... What self indulgent song will this guy pick this week? Will he ruin another classic like he did to "Ring of Fire"? He quite frankly should have been in the bottom 3 last week and of course the judges would have saved him... Paula practically does backflips after his performances.. (Word to Paula, you are NOT a LA Lakers cheerleader any longer so please sit down when the contestants are singing)

And I hear that Smokey Robinson is making an appearance as well. he must be the mentor for the week...

American Idol Results

So Alexis PinkHair got the boot. I did predict Michael Sarver (he was however in the bottom 2) and I still think he should have gone home but Alexis' rendition of 'Jolene' was pretty forgetful and what I don't understand about AI is that the bottom people have to sing again before they leave the show? I mean, isn't that the reason they are booted off because no one wants to hear them anymore or they stunk the 1st time they sang?

Please AI, don't burden us with having to hear the god awful renditions again!

American Idol Predictions - Country Night

So I consider myself a good judge of what sounds good and what sounds like crap....

Adam Lambert- Ring of Fire. Come on, you sounded like a train wreck. It was pretentious & obnoxious. I totally agree with Simon when he said, "What the hell was that?"

Scott McIntyre- I couldn't even tell you what he sang. It was boring and sounded like the same exact song he sang last week. Is the American public keeping him in this competition because he's blind? A girl in my office told she would vote for him cause she feels bad for him. I think he only has about another week left on this show.

Michael Sarver - Garth Brooks song. I think unfortunately for him, that he will be going home tonight. I hate country songs that sound exactly like the one he performed. In fact, I really don't care for country much at all.

Kris Allen - Too slow for me (not the name of the song). I'll give him the "cute guy" factor but I guess I was the only one who thought it was a snoozer. He sounds ok but i wanted to crawl under the covers and go to sleep after that one.

Lil Rounds- Independence Day. I like Lil' Rounds but I don't love her. I also hate this song because when I worked in radio the show after my shift was Sean Hannity and if you don't know, Hannity uses this as his opening song. So hearing it everyday for 4 years can get a little sickening.

Alexis PinkHair - Jolene. Obviously, that's not her last name but her performance was forgettable just like her. I thought she was really good when they were vying for Top 12 but she hasn't gotten me excited about wanting to hear more of her.

As for who I thought was good this week....

Danny Gokey- Jesus Take the Wheel. It sounded kind of "pitchy" quoting Randy but as it got going his soulful voice hit all the right spots. I am bias because I love this guy.

Alison Ihareta - Patty Loveless song. She's got some great pipes at age 16. She has a unique style as well. Great voice. I also love this song because River Phoenix sang this in his 2nd to last film, "The Thing Called Love'. Great movie also starring then girlfriend Samantha Mathis, Sandra Bullock and Dermot Mulroney. It's set in Nashville so if you like country music, you'll love it.

Anoop Desai - Always on My Mind. Thank the Lord, the Soul Man is back. If you ever get a chance to go on Youtube you can catch Anoop in his UNC acapella group, the Cleffhangers. He's singing R&B hits left & right. He was probably the best of them all last night.

Matt Giraud- (not sure the song here either). This guy is good. He is sort of like JT with his piano skills. I like his voice too.

Megan Joy Corkery - Walkin' After Midnight. This girl is really beautiful. Her face is flawless. Her voice sounded the best it has. Then of course because the judges want her around, they HAD to mention she's been in the hospital all week because of the flu. They mentioned it at least 3 times. It's CODE for: Don't vote her off yet, we want her to stick around. (even though they have the save rule they don't want to really use it).

So I am predicting that Michael Sarver will be going home tongiht. Please Judges, don't save him!

Best Dances of the 80s

You know you did some of these:

Break Dancing: Break dancing was by far the biggest dance craze of the early 80s. Beginning as a street dance of the 70s and evolving into a popular dance style all its own, break dancing was born of hip-hop influences, and performing most moves required immense physical aptitude.

The Cabbage Patch Dance: The cabbage patch dance is a dance involving putting the hands together and moving them in a horizontal circular motion. It was popularized by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella in 1987.

Electric Slide: Although the song was originally released in the late 1970s, the electric slide became popular at the end of the 1980s. The dance is a four wall line dance and is performed to the song by the same name.

Hangin' Tough: This dance came from New Kids on the Block. All you need to do is put your left arm in the air and wave it from side to side.

Lambada: The hottest dance craze of the 80s, it was a high-performance version of Dirty Dancing. You just basically straddle your partner's thigh and bump and grind.

Moonwalk: You move one foot backwards keeping all your foot on the floor while your static foot has its heel raised. Keep changing feet. It should look as if you are walking forward but the floor is pulling you back. Many people associate this dance with Michael Jackson.

The New Kids Dance: You start out with feet at arms length apart kick out your right foot and bring it back to the center, same thing with the left foot and then have both feet in the center.

Pee Wee's Dance: Created by the original Pee Wee Herman, Paul Reubens, the dance became popular after the release of Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It is only performed to the song "Tequila."

Robot: Kinda of like the poplock except you keep all your body parts straight. You basically move as if you were trying to imitate a dancing robot or mannequin.

The Running Man: The Running Man is a dance that originated in the 1980s but achieved renewed popularity in the 2000s. It consists of a hopping or sliding step done in such a way at speed to simulate a runner.

Slam Dancing: Also known as moshing, Slammers tend to move as a whole in a clockwise direction, pushing and shoving their way around the room in what has today been called a mosh pit.

Thriller: "Thriller" is an early 1984 hit single recorded by Michael Jackson for the Epic label. The 14-minute video clip is regarded by some as the greatest music video of all time and the song itself is considered one of Jackson's signature songs.

American Idol Kickoff Predictions

Ok it's 7:40pm, 20 minutes to AI starts.

I hear Kelly Clarkson will be on tonight so that will prolong the show, also i'm sure they'll be singing some cheesy Michael Jackson medley of songs as well. I even heard rumors that Michael Jackson would make an appearance because he so desperately wants to make a comeback. What better way then to be on the show watched by millions of people. (quite frankly I won't be buying any of Michael Jackson's songs.. He's done...He lip syncs & is hideous to look at...

Anyway, I think Jorge Nunez will be voted off....He didn't sound good to me.... Also, the red head teenager Alison Ihareta may be going home... I also thought the big guy Sarver wasn't good, Scott McIntyre wasn't great and maybe the fate of having to dial a weird phone number will screw over Alexis. We'll see.

Also, I stand by that I don't like Adam Lambert. And here's why.... He reminds me of a Broadway Axel Rose. He screams his way through every song. I do believe he has a good voice but when he starts screaming out of control, it's like he's saying, "Look at me, I can reach high notes that nobody else can" but he ends up sounding like Axel Rose and I think it is unncessary and a little obnoxious.

GO DANNY!

Chris To The Rescue!

According to The Sun,

By CARL STROUD
Published: 07 Mar 2009
POP star RIHANNA hopes to mend her boyfriend’s image after he allegedly attacked her — by making him rescue animals.
The singer has told CHRIS BROWN, 19, to join volunteers on night-time patrols of Hollywood, looking for stray cats and dogs.
Rihanna, 21, is standing by Brown despite sickening details of his alleged attack.
And she is getting him to help the scheme run by LA restaurant Birds — which re-homes abused animals.
A source told The Sun: “Diners and staff patrol the neighbourhood, looking for stray animals that need help.
“Rihanna has told managers she will be bringing Chris along to a rescue mission.”
Brown appeared in an LA court on Thursday to face assault charges. It is alleged he hit her head against a car window, bit her, put her in a headlock and threatened to kill her.
Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty last night said he feared R&B singer Brown had a “stranglehold” over his daughter.
He said he could not contact her after her phone numbers suddenly changed.

American Idol is Brainwashing You!

It's no coincidence that in each of the 3 rounds of the last 3 weeks that the best performer has sung last. They wouldn't want you to change the channel until the most hyped-up performer has sung their heart out, would they? Call it the money spot!

Audiences all over the country do not realize they are being manipulated into voting for who the judges really want to see on the show (Top 12)

Take last night for instance, Felicia Barton, 26, who sang the annoying smash hit by Alicia Keys, 'No One'. That song is almost as annoying as Rihanna's 'Umbrella'. this is the girl who got into the competiton by replacing the girl (can't think of her name) who happened to be good friends with 2 people who worked for 19 entertainment, associated with American Idol.

I think Kara proclaimed, "I can really see you going far this competition".. 10, 11 & 12 yr. old little girls hear that & think , "Oh Kara likes her, she must be good"

She wasn't bad. She sounded pretty good actually but what was different about that song? Two things: it wasn't Alicia Keys & as Idol likes to say, "she didn't make it her own"...
Surprising, Ju'Not Joyner, 26, was pretty good. He did "Hey There Delilah" in a melodic slowed down version. He took a risk and did a good job. But Kara thought "he could have busted out some more" and Simon thought, "He played it too safe"
Then there's Jorge Nunez, 20, who sang Elton John. It was ok and he may have shown his accent in some of the lyrics but it was nothing to write home about. But will his crying after his performance push him through? It may very well..
Kristen McNamara, 22, formerly the blonde and pink & blonde , pink and purple haired karaoke cruise line specialist, belted her way through Tracy Chapman's Gimme One Reason. I love that song. I think she has some great vocals but her actions were a little cheesy with the shouts of "Yeah" and "Come On". I think she's been ridiculed so much by the judges on her fashion choices that her voice won't matter in the competition because she's viewed as a joke.
Let's get to Scott McIntyre, 23, the blind guy who has a soft but sensitive sounding quality to his voice. I like this guy. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. But could the judges be a little less obvious in their attempts to campaign for this guy to make it to the Top 12? Quotes such as: I hope America gives you the chance to show what you can do with that piano. I quite frankly thought he sounded off key quite a bit last night. But according to Kara, Pitch doesn't matter.. Maybe that only applies to the visually impaired.
Worst performances of the night:
Alex Wagner - Trugamn, 19. He sang, "I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues". How did he make it this far again? That was just a weird performance...
Arianna Asfar, 16. She sang, "The Winner Takes It All" by ABBA. My god, it was really bad. I know she's only 16 yrs. but it was one of those performances you had to hide your eyes with your shirt. Brutal!
And last but not least, Nathaniel Marshall, 18. Or it could be Nathan according to his grandmother? Is it possible she doesn't know his actual name?
It felt like I was watching an exercise video from the 80's. That stupid garter on his head instead of a regular headband. I actually changed the channel because I was cringing with such embarrassment.
I don't have to mention the others because I don't think they have any chances of making it through unless the Wild card round saves them (well maybe Von Smith)
On another note, each year of American Idol, there always seems to be some sort of scandal. Late this afternoon, there has been some pictures uncovered of the finalist Adam Lambert. This is dyed black hair, black fingernail guy. There are several pics of him making out with other guys.
Some people are writing on the web that this will affect his chances of making it through to the finals. It really doesn't matter, does it? Shouldn't it be about their ability to sing and not their lifestyle. I guess we'll find out more down the raod.
Bano! Bano! Bano!

The Guidance of Diddy!

According to People magazine, Rihanna & Chris Brown are reunited at Diddy's resort in Florida.

People magazine reported this weekend that the two pop stars had reunited and reconciled after a Feb. 8 incident in which Brown allegedly beat and bruised his pop star girlfriend. They've reportedly been spending time at Diddy's mansion on Miami Beach's Star Island.

The headline was something like: Thanks to Diddy's guidance, Rihanna & Chris Brown are reunited.

I wonder what the headline will be when Chris Brown beats her again or kills her?

Those photos were of someone who didn't just smack his girlfriend in the face but beat her violently enough that her face was bloody & swollen. Oh, and let's not forget bitten!

Good for you, Diddy! These kids can work it out. It's all for the best! ( sarcastic tones)

Kanye West

Kanye West....hmmmm. What can I say about him? I do enjoy his new cd. It's quite good...I like his music (most of the time) BUT

I do not like him. I have never met him but all his comments that are made public and some of his actions just makes me come to the conclusion that he's an ass!

His recent performance on VH1's Storytellers, he made a few comments:

West asked the crowd, "Can't we give Chris a break? ... I know I make mistakes in life." He was referring to R&B singer Chris Brown, who was arrested on the night of the Grammys on suspicion of beating his girlfriend Rihanna. In the same context, West earned loud applause with his declaration: "Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing ... He's a real f---in' person; he makes mistakes," referring to the champion swimmer's recent bong pipe brouhaha.VH1 has cleaned up those comments a bit, and it also included West's less-popular follow-up observation: "O.J. Simpson, amazing. Is he not? What he did, when he did, what he did. Was he not amazing though?".

Any thoughts? Accused abusers, pedophiles & murderers just aren't cool, Kanye. Did you know that?

Of course these comments were cut out of the show when it aired yesterday. It can only be a 90 minute show which lasted 3 hours long..I wish they did air those comments though.

I got the quotes from the website: www.thesuperficial.com/
aka The Superficial - Because You're Ugly...

American Idol Top 6 so far

I would really like to comment on the AI contestants that have been picked for the soon to be Top 12...

1st week: Danny Gokey (backstory: wife died from heart complications/soon after he came to audition) He's my favorite to win it all... He really does have a great voice. Soulful & scratchy.

Alexis Grace (this pink & blonde hair girl). I thought she sang Aretha pretty well. I like her..

Michael Sarver (big guy with clef chin/he's a hardworking guy-can't rememebr what he does actually) I don't really care for him. He's an over-smiler.. I wanted Anoup to take this spot...

2nd week: Did you not think that Adam Lambert wasn't going to be picked when they had that Nick/Norman goofball next to him? So this Adam is good and it didn't hurt that he was profiled in the auditions segments. But I think he is more of a scream singer.. He sounds like those hairband lead singers screaming their way through songs. I think he may be a bit overrated. Well see...

Alison Iraheta: it's actually good to see someone picked you never saw before. I like her voice. Her hair on the other hand is like a bad Kate Pierson style...

Kris Allen: Never remembered this guy either. He wasn't bad. I think he sounded better when he sang his song last night then when he actually performed on Wednesday. But let me state this, he sounded like he may have been doing a cover of James Morrison doing a cover of Michael Jackson. He is no James Morrison that's for sure..

My predictions for the Top 3 for next week are:

Brent Keith, Lil Rounds and not sure but maybe a toss up between Von Smith or Scott McIntyre...

We'll see next Thursday!

Stephen Page quits BNL!

I'm giving you this straight from Billboard.com

Barenaked Ladies Singer Quits Band After Drug Bust:

February 25, 2009 09:46 AM ET
Jason MacNeil, Toronto

Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page, who was arrested for cocaine possession last July, is leaving the Canadian rock band to begin a solo career. The departure follows a tumultuous 2008 for the band which also saw Page sentenced to six months probation for the drug charge and singer Ed Robertson survive an August plane crash."By mutual agreement, Steven Page will be parting company with the remaining members of Barenaked Ladies," the band wrote on its official Web site on Tuesday evening. "Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson, and Tyler Stewart will continue recording and touring together as Barenaked Ladies. Steven Page will pursue solo projects including theatrical opportunities while the band enters the studio in April 2009, and hits the road in the fall." "These guys are my brothers," Page said in the statement. "We’ve grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future.”In his Dec. 3 blog posting, Page stated he was "doing great" after losing 40 pounds. "Yes, it’s been a terrible year for the band, and for me personally, but there have also been many things to be happy and grateful for: Falling in love, a renewed sense of peace, the best health of my adult life, some amazing creative and artistic opportunities, and the chance for a renewed and fruitful relationship with my band, friends and loved ones." As previously reported, the band, which released a children’s album entitled "Snack Time" last year, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a boxed set.The group also recently completed its Ships and Dip Caribbean cruise with a lineup featuring Sarah McLachlan, Great Big Sea, the Weakerthans, Sloan and "Kids In The Hall" members Kevin McDonald and Dave Foley. In 2005, Page, working with songwriter Stephen Duffy, released a "solo" album under the name The Vanity Project.

Gmail Users, Don't Click on it!

I was reading the NY Times online this morning and check out part of this article:

Gmail users who are logged into the accompanying chat service Google Chat, as most are, have been getting messages that appear to be from friends, urging them to click on a Web address starting with tinyurl.com that takes them to a site called ViddyHo. The site asks for the person’s Gmail log-in information and then hijacks the account, sending out chat messages to all of the user’s contacts and spreading itself further.

Addictions

I am addicted to Showtime's Weeds. However, I watch the show through Netflix. I need Season 4 to come out on DVD like yesterday. I always seem to be hungry when I watch it. Isn't it strange that the show revolves around drugs and I seemed to be addicted to it? Conspiracy????? I think so....

Myspace Music: It's where it's at!

So I am not lying when I say, the Brits know their music but so do the Australians.

Aussie Daniel Merriweather. Remember that name!

http://www.myspace.com/danielmerriweather
Check out song: Change feat. Wale

Peter Bjorn and John. they are from Sweden
http://www.myspace.com/peterbjornandjohn

Check out songs: Young Folks and Nothing To Worry About

Myspace Music wasn't mentioned on my blog before this for great music sites. The other sites are great for getting ideas on what music to download & purchase. Myspace Music is great for listening to the music and learn all about the bands & artists.

Best Source for New Music!

The best source for new music in my opinion is at these 4 websites.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/
http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/genre_index.jsp
http://radioandrecords.com
http://promosquad.com

Reasons:
1) The BBC Radio 1 site has all the music first before it makes it over to the U.S. Duffy, Estelle, Leona Lewis, The Kooks.... In my opionion, the Brits know what music is...
2) Billboard has so many Top 100 -Top 10 charts to look at you can get ideas of what's new and what's "Bubbling Under"
3) Radio and Records is one of my favorites because the Triple A charts are just great. They even have Canada's top charts and Latin music as well..
4) Now Promosquad is different. You have to sign up for it and they send you an email that songs are in their "jukebox". You rate songs by new and undiscovered artists. You then get points and as your points add up, you can qualify for prizes. I have yet to click on any prizes but I really enjoy listening to the new music.

Please take the time to check Promosquad out and check the other sites for what's new in music.

For those about to get a digital converter, we salute you!

Digital converters work well if the weather isn't bad. I have lost many channels when it snows. Not a fun thing when there is 10 minutes till Lost and ABC is nowhere to be found! I called the number on the Zenith catalog and the guy told me "Maybe I should climb on the roof and try to adjust the antenna or get a antenna amplifier". I think he should have said that one first.
BUYERS BEWARE: Just make sure you get a box that has analog pass through or you will be looking at snow but you might as well go outside and play in it since you won't be watching TV.
