Best Dances of the 80s

You know you did some of these:

Break Dancing: Break dancing was by far the biggest dance craze of the early 80s. Beginning as a street dance of the 70s and evolving into a popular dance style all its own, break dancing was born of hip-hop influences, and performing most moves required immense physical aptitude.

The Cabbage Patch Dance: The cabbage patch dance is a dance involving putting the hands together and moving them in a horizontal circular motion. It was popularized by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella in 1987.

Electric Slide: Although the song was originally released in the late 1970s, the electric slide became popular at the end of the 1980s. The dance is a four wall line dance and is performed to the song by the same name.

Hangin' Tough: This dance came from New Kids on the Block. All you need to do is put your left arm in the air and wave it from side to side.

Lambada: The hottest dance craze of the 80s, it was a high-performance version of Dirty Dancing. You just basically straddle your partner's thigh and bump and grind.

Moonwalk: You move one foot backwards keeping all your foot on the floor while your static foot has its heel raised. Keep changing feet. It should look as if you are walking forward but the floor is pulling you back. Many people associate this dance with Michael Jackson.

The New Kids Dance: You start out with feet at arms length apart kick out your right foot and bring it back to the center, same thing with the left foot and then have both feet in the center.

Pee Wee's Dance: Created by the original Pee Wee Herman, Paul Reubens, the dance became popular after the release of Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It is only performed to the song "Tequila."

Robot: Kinda of like the poplock except you keep all your body parts straight. You basically move as if you were trying to imitate a dancing robot or mannequin.

The Running Man: The Running Man is a dance that originated in the 1980s but achieved renewed popularity in the 2000s. It consists of a hopping or sliding step done in such a way at speed to simulate a runner.

Slam Dancing: Also known as moshing, Slammers tend to move as a whole in a clockwise direction, pushing and shoving their way around the room in what has today been called a mosh pit.

Thriller: "Thriller" is an early 1984 hit single recorded by Michael Jackson for the Epic label. The 14-minute video clip is regarded by some as the greatest music video of all time and the song itself is considered one of Jackson's signature songs.

American Idol Kickoff Predictions

Ok it's 7:40pm, 20 minutes to AI starts.

I hear Kelly Clarkson will be on tonight so that will prolong the show, also i'm sure they'll be singing some cheesy Michael Jackson medley of songs as well. I even heard rumors that Michael Jackson would make an appearance because he so desperately wants to make a comeback. What better way then to be on the show watched by millions of people. (quite frankly I won't be buying any of Michael Jackson's songs.. He's done...He lip syncs & is hideous to look at...

Anyway, I think Jorge Nunez will be voted off....He didn't sound good to me.... Also, the red head teenager Alison Ihareta may be going home... I also thought the big guy Sarver wasn't good, Scott McIntyre wasn't great and maybe the fate of having to dial a weird phone number will screw over Alexis. We'll see.

Also, I stand by that I don't like Adam Lambert. And here's why.... He reminds me of a Broadway Axel Rose. He screams his way through every song. I do believe he has a good voice but when he starts screaming out of control, it's like he's saying, "Look at me, I can reach high notes that nobody else can" but he ends up sounding like Axel Rose and I think it is unncessary and a little obnoxious.

GO DANNY!

Chris To The Rescue!

According to The Sun,

By CARL STROUD
Published: 07 Mar 2009
POP star RIHANNA hopes to mend her boyfriend’s image after he allegedly attacked her — by making him rescue animals.
The singer has told CHRIS BROWN, 19, to join volunteers on night-time patrols of Hollywood, looking for stray cats and dogs.
Rihanna, 21, is standing by Brown despite sickening details of his alleged attack.
And she is getting him to help the scheme run by LA restaurant Birds — which re-homes abused animals.
A source told The Sun: “Diners and staff patrol the neighbourhood, looking for stray animals that need help.
“Rihanna has told managers she will be bringing Chris along to a rescue mission.”
Brown appeared in an LA court on Thursday to face assault charges. It is alleged he hit her head against a car window, bit her, put her in a headlock and threatened to kill her.
Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty last night said he feared R&B singer Brown had a “stranglehold” over his daughter.
He said he could not contact her after her phone numbers suddenly changed.

American Idol is Brainwashing You!

It's no coincidence that in each of the 3 rounds of the last 3 weeks that the best performer has sung last. They wouldn't want you to change the channel until the most hyped-up performer has sung their heart out, would they? Call it the money spot!

Audiences all over the country do not realize they are being manipulated into voting for who the judges really want to see on the show (Top 12)

Take last night for instance, Felicia Barton, 26, who sang the annoying smash hit by Alicia Keys, 'No One'. That song is almost as annoying as Rihanna's 'Umbrella'. this is the girl who got into the competiton by replacing the girl (can't think of her name) who happened to be good friends with 2 people who worked for 19 entertainment, associated with American Idol.

I think Kara proclaimed, "I can really see you going far this competition".. 10, 11 & 12 yr. old little girls hear that & think , "Oh Kara likes her, she must be good"

She wasn't bad. She sounded pretty good actually but what was different about that song? Two things: it wasn't Alicia Keys & as Idol likes to say, "she didn't make it her own"...
Surprising, Ju'Not Joyner, 26, was pretty good. He did "Hey There Delilah" in a melodic slowed down version. He took a risk and did a good job. But Kara thought "he could have busted out some more" and Simon thought, "He played it too safe"
Then there's Jorge Nunez, 20, who sang Elton John. It was ok and he may have shown his accent in some of the lyrics but it was nothing to write home about. But will his crying after his performance push him through? It may very well..
Kristen McNamara, 22, formerly the blonde and pink & blonde , pink and purple haired karaoke cruise line specialist, belted her way through Tracy Chapman's Gimme One Reason. I love that song. I think she has some great vocals but her actions were a little cheesy with the shouts of "Yeah" and "Come On". I think she's been ridiculed so much by the judges on her fashion choices that her voice won't matter in the competition because she's viewed as a joke.
Let's get to Scott McIntyre, 23, the blind guy who has a soft but sensitive sounding quality to his voice. I like this guy. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. But could the judges be a little less obvious in their attempts to campaign for this guy to make it to the Top 12? Quotes such as: I hope America gives you the chance to show what you can do with that piano. I quite frankly thought he sounded off key quite a bit last night. But according to Kara, Pitch doesn't matter.. Maybe that only applies to the visually impaired.
Worst performances of the night:
Alex Wagner - Trugamn, 19. He sang, "I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues". How did he make it this far again? That was just a weird performance...
Arianna Asfar, 16. She sang, "The Winner Takes It All" by ABBA. My god, it was really bad. I know she's only 16 yrs. but it was one of those performances you had to hide your eyes with your shirt. Brutal!
And last but not least, Nathaniel Marshall, 18. Or it could be Nathan according to his grandmother? Is it possible she doesn't know his actual name?
It felt like I was watching an exercise video from the 80's. That stupid garter on his head instead of a regular headband. I actually changed the channel because I was cringing with such embarrassment.
I don't have to mention the others because I don't think they have any chances of making it through unless the Wild card round saves them (well maybe Von Smith)
On another note, each year of American Idol, there always seems to be some sort of scandal. Late this afternoon, there has been some pictures uncovered of the finalist Adam Lambert. This is dyed black hair, black fingernail guy. There are several pics of him making out with other guys.
Some people are writing on the web that this will affect his chances of making it through to the finals. It really doesn't matter, does it? Shouldn't it be about their ability to sing and not their lifestyle. I guess we'll find out more down the raod.
Bano! Bano! Bano!

The Guidance of Diddy!

According to People magazine, Rihanna & Chris Brown are reunited at Diddy's resort in Florida.

People magazine reported this weekend that the two pop stars had reunited and reconciled after a Feb. 8 incident in which Brown allegedly beat and bruised his pop star girlfriend. They've reportedly been spending time at Diddy's mansion on Miami Beach's Star Island.

The headline was something like: Thanks to Diddy's guidance, Rihanna & Chris Brown are reunited.

I wonder what the headline will be when Chris Brown beats her again or kills her?

Those photos were of someone who didn't just smack his girlfriend in the face but beat her violently enough that her face was bloody & swollen. Oh, and let's not forget bitten!

Good for you, Diddy! These kids can work it out. It's all for the best! ( sarcastic tones)

Kanye West

Kanye West....hmmmm. What can I say about him? I do enjoy his new cd. It's quite good...I like his music (most of the time) BUT

I do not like him. I have never met him but all his comments that are made public and some of his actions just makes me come to the conclusion that he's an ass!

His recent performance on VH1's Storytellers, he made a few comments:

West asked the crowd, "Can't we give Chris a break? ... I know I make mistakes in life." He was referring to R&B singer Chris Brown, who was arrested on the night of the Grammys on suspicion of beating his girlfriend Rihanna. In the same context, West earned loud applause with his declaration: "Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing ... He's a real f---in' person; he makes mistakes," referring to the champion swimmer's recent bong pipe brouhaha.VH1 has cleaned up those comments a bit, and it also included West's less-popular follow-up observation: "O.J. Simpson, amazing. Is he not? What he did, when he did, what he did. Was he not amazing though?".

Any thoughts? Accused abusers, pedophiles & murderers just aren't cool, Kanye. Did you know that?

Of course these comments were cut out of the show when it aired yesterday. It can only be a 90 minute show which lasted 3 hours long..I wish they did air those comments though.

I got the quotes from the website: www.thesuperficial.com/
