American Idol Predictions - 4/29/09
Rat Pack night was pretty subdued in terms of all out rockin' songs. I would have loved to hear "Mack The Knife" or "Hit the Road Jack" but it was more of a swoon type of style music night for the most part. Alison is awesome. She may not be the cutest girl on the block but this girl can SING! She is exactly like a R&B Pink... Adam is just plain Adam. He sounded medicore to me and no one but insane Paula really gave him a great compliment. Randy threw in his usual "Yo's" and "Dog" comments. Kara was saying he was like a mixed bag of "unexpected, sleazy ( i did hear that one), surprises" and mentioned she didn't know why she liked him. Hey thanks Kara for whatever that meant... Paula did her usual babble praise for Adam. Saying, "he can see the path to the finals" And Simon told him it was the "best entrance of a performer ever on the history of the show... Kris who I really liked was soft and tender according to Kara but he wasn't great but I still love him... Danny was really good this week. Not the sappy Danny I had been starting to loathe... and lastly, Matt Giraud. Now usually I agree with Simon but last night in no way did I think that was BRILLIANT! I think if Simon goes back and listens to it again, he will hear the terrible notes that I thought were coming through on my television set. I think Matt is going home, no doubt...

American Idol Predictions - April 22, 2009
Disco night really didn't sound much like disco with the exception of Danny & Matt.
So let's get in to it then...
Danny Gokey sang September which I love by Earth Wind and Fire. I thought he sang well. I used to love him but now I am just liking him.
Matt Giraud sang Stayin' Alive and I'm not sure if he will. I thought it was ok but apparently the judges want them to change up the songs more and it sounded pretty much like the original.
Alison Ihareta sang Hot Stuff by Donna Summer (one of 3 songs by Summer). Someone called me during her performance so I only caught pieces. I think she might be in the bottom 3 only because I thought the arrangement wasn't that good and she seemed to be shouting again. But I love Alison and as Randy says, " You got mad skills" "Dude, you can blow!" Let's hope he means singing...
Anoop Desai sang Dim All The Lights by Summer. I think he must have figured out that his voice is best when singing slow songs. For the second week in a row, I thought he was very good. But the last note sounded like he was dying, yikes! And did anyone notice this, but when they did the recaps of all the singers, they showed Anoop's last note and it wasn't the same as the actual performance. That must have been the performance of the rehearsal in the recaps.
Kris Allen sang yet again another Donna Summer song, She Works Hard for the Money. All I kept thinking of was that video of her working in that diner. Kris is becoming one of my favorites. I really like his style and I love anything acoustic so he's sounding awesome.
Adam Lambert sang If I Can't Have You by Yvonne Eilliman. Paula marvels about how he shows emotion. I mean the camera cuts to Paula and she's practically weeping on cue. Remember people, this guy is an actor. Of course he knows how to sing with emotion, he used to sing in musicals all the time. It was a good performance, I will say that.
Lil Rounds sang I'm Every Woman by Chaka Khan. I didn't see her performance at all. I did however see the judges reaction so I'm going to say it wasn't good. I bet she is is so confused on what to sing because every comment from the judges to her is negative.
I think the Bottom 3 will be Lil' Rounds, Matt Giraud and Alison Ihareta. If fans get behind Lil' Rounds then either Anoop or Kris will probably be in there then.
And can I just say something about Paula? I also noticed after Adam sang, they zoomed in on her face and her hand was shaking quite a bit. I know she was filled up with emotion after proclaiming Adam would be in the finals and some classic comments, “I felt your pain, I felt like your vulnerability and it was beautiful. It was as if you tore your heart out and left it on the stage. You’re fascinating, you’re brilliant, and you will be in the finals".
Paula, can you feel my pain just listening to you? I find myself shouting at the tv at times everytime I see Paula get up and dance like a maniac to the contestants songs.
Well, what cheesy dance number will we see tonight and what old reject from AI will be performing? Oh wait, it's cutie David Archuletta...

This is an unofficial list, they are subject to change...

Is the MLB suspending every pitcher who throws at heads?
My question is: If they suspended Josh Beckett for throwing at Bobby Abreu's head and missing, will they be suspending other pitchers for actually hitting the batter's head?
I say this only because last night Kevin Youkilis was hit in the head.
"With Dustin Pedroia on base, Orioles reliever Danys Baez hit Youkilis in the head with a 93-mph fastball, the ball glancing off his helmet and caroming towards the Red Sox dugout. Youkilis sat for a moment, but quickly stood, and walked to first base without a problem, accompanied by trainers and manager Terry Francona." Projo Sports Blog 4/17/09
So you gotta think, that reliever Baez will be suspended too, right? Let's hope that MLB gets it right. If you do it for one, you have to do it for all.

American Idol Predictions - April 14th
Hmmmm. Ok, here's my thoughts....
Alison Ihareta: Even though the judges thought she was pretty good, I thought she didn't sound all that great. I thought I heard alot of parts off key. Not sure if she'll be safe tonight.
Danny Gokey: I thougth he was good but boring. The song was totally cheesy. I don't think it was fantastic but I believe he is safe.
Anoop Desai: I think personally he had the best performance of the night. Although I hate Bryan Adams songs, he was quite good. I think he's best when singing R&B slow songs.
Adam Lambert: Hmmmm. You know I hate this guy and his rendition of 'Born To Be Wild' just really pushed me over the edge. Tell me people, who sings a song like that? I think Adam's ego is so big now that he thinks he can sing anything that sounds like a screaming banshee. For me, that was horrifying. I kind of hope he's in the Bottom 3. It would be exciting for the show to see a shakeup but I doubt it would happen.
Matt Giraud: I like Matt, I really do but last night's performance did nothing for me. I think he's endanger of being booted for good.
Kris Allen: it's too bad. This guy is really good. But because he picked a song from the film "Once", I think the obscurity of this song will drop him in the Bottom 3. (great soundtrack, you should check it out.)
Lil' Rounds: She really isn't as good as they thought she was. I think the auditions sometimes are deceiving. She should be in the Bottom 3 tonight but maybe her crying ( it was when they showed the recaps) and the judges harsh comments will make people feel bad for her and she could be saved...
My predictions Bottom 3: Lil' Rounds, Kris Allen and Matt Giraud... but if Lil' gets some sympathy, I would throw Allison in there...

Parks & Recreation Review
Uh........
See that awkward silence, that's what I think of Amy Poehler's new sitcom. It was like watching a bad copy of The Office. The whole documentary style, talking to the camera... it just wasn't that funny. I mean Amy Peohler is funny, don't get me wrong but it was almost like she was trying too hard to be overly funny. (does that make sense?).
Rashida Jones & Nick Offerman ( i believe is Megan Mullaly's husband) they both better watch out, cause her sitcom Motherhood stinks too) are good actors as well but it doesn't seem to gel together. Too many one liners...
Overall, the characters are a little weak. Let's hope the show's second episode is much better.

American Idol Predictions - April 8, 2009
Ok, there really isn't much to say but I'll guess that the bottom 3 tonight will be:
Lil Rounds, Scott McIntyre, Kris Allen
Why they should go?
Lil Rounds: Every week she is just not impressing me and I'm sorry when she hits those high notes, sometimes it sounds like nails scratching a chalkboard. Not impressed.
Scott McIntyre: I couldn't believe he actually made it on the competition rounds in the first place. So to say I'm a fan is a big NO. I had a strange feeling that if he did make it, people would vote for him because he is blind. Don't feel sorry for him 'cause he's blind, feel sorry for him 'cause he sounds terrible and it's embarrassing.
Kris Allen: I just started to really enjoy listening to Kris but last night the whole song sounded horrendous plus I hate anything Eagles related. Sorry not an Eagles fan. It just sounded like a mess.
I hope Allison is not in the Bottom 3 tonight. This girl is so good at 16 yrs. She's way better than Jordin Sparks.
I think tonight may be the first night that someone is saved by the new rule. ( I wouldn't save Scott but they might because Kara & Paula can't really say anything bad to him)

American Idol Review - April 1, 2009
They all were awesome! I mean isn't Megan Joy the best! Screw Simon! She rules!
Oh wait... April Fools!
Here's a quick and simple rundown of last night's performances:
Anoop: Missed his performance completely
Megan: Made Bob Marley roll over in his grave
Danny: Makes me love him even more
Allison: Sang good but her hair was hideous
Lil: Not loving her.. Disagree w/judges. She's good but not great.
Scott: Didn't like him... Still very boring..
Matt: Uh Oh... That stunk... Why didn't he sing JT? He may be going home
Adam: Hate him. Don't know why but I just do. He is different though.
Kris: Liked him alot. I think he's very talented..
